Human lead
An experienced operator drives the front truck. The convoy stays linked to that truck — speed, path, and brake — and takes its cue from a person when the load is heavy and the ground changes fast.

Most of the fleet can run on its own. One experienced driver stays in the lead truck and makes the calls that still belong to a person — especially in rain, on soft ground, or when something sudden shows up. The work starts on private ground, where the convoy, the weather, and the care of the land can be tested honestly.
What gets dug is not treated as waste. It is sorted and placed so it becomes stable, usable land. The same trucks can grade a rut they helped make. Safer work. Less wasted effort. Ground that is better than we found it.
I drive a dump truck. I know how a loaded stop changes in the rain, and how fast a situation can turn when another vehicle does something you did not expect. I would rather work with my hands, and I want this tested against what actually happens in the field.
I am not looking for a title. I want to be useful — to help stress the system until it can be trusted with heavy equipment and the people around it.
